Occupied between 1000 A.D. and 1450 A.D., the Moundville Archaeological Park aims to preserve the history of local Native American cultures through a walking trail, museum and living history village. The site is located along the southern bank of the Black Warrior River in the town of Moundville, the location of the largest city in ancient North America. The park's Indian Village has a number of homes depicting various daily activities of the society while the museum holds a number of artifacts drawn from the site itself.
Park open daily, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Museum open daily, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Adults $5; Seniors $4; Students and Children $3; Children under 5 are free.
